My Little Man

Almost eight years ago when Skooter came into my life I never knew how much I needed him....or he needed me. He came from the streets, in horrible shape, and into a loving home with two (Dachshund) big sisters. One sister tortured him and the other loved him. Sadly , the loving one passed away from Leukemia after Skooter had been with us only a year. When Skooter first came to the house I was suffering from debilitation migraines, and he had unexplained seziures. After 3 times of him trying to alert me (with no training mind you!) I finally understood that he could tell me, 3 days in advance, when I would be getting a migraine! This is now a GREAT thing to know! We've long known that due to his early year on the streets, poor nutrition and lifestyle that Skoot's eyes were (and are) failing him, and his seziures are only getting worse. Skooter will be celebrating his 8th year with us on the Fourth of July and no matter how much longer he's with me, he'll always be "my little man". I am forever grateful that he and I complement one another so well. I love you little man! Photo submitted by BethAnn Decker Hits : 2563 as of 11/1/2006
