I also want to thank you for your website - I got a lot of good advice and comfort from this site. Thanks - Elizabeth Riddell "Maddie was a real sweetheart. We rescued her at age 2 from Southern California Lab Rescue. Shy at first, she soon warmed up to everyone she knew. We don't know what her life was like before we got her - only that she came from a pound in Pomona. She never fetched or liked to swim much - we think she was more person than dog. She ran with me on the in front of the ocean everyday, went with us EVERYWHERE we went; to work with me, 2 flights to Colorado for Christmas, dinner, friends houses. When our 2 daughters were born, she stopped sleeping in our room and started sleeping with them. In mid-July she was paralyzed from the waist down - at first we thought it was FCE but later it seemed this was a side effect of hemangio-sarcoma - a fast spreading cancer. She was such a trooper - she still went everywhere with us in the car and we started cooking for her and feeding her by hand. She lost her battle with cancer in on 11/22. We all miss her everyday but feel so thankful she was in our life."
